The Greatest Weight Loss Article Of All Time

Alright, so it may be a tiny exaggeration. And even if it wasn’t, my opinion may be slightly biased considering that I am the writer. And sure, using fun attention-getting titles is something I’m a big fan of doing. However, what I can say with absolute certainty is that “the greatest weight loss article of all time” is exactly what I set out to put together.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that this is the week when millions of people around the world make their New Year’s Resolutions. I also mentioned that the #1 resolution may very well be to lose weight.

I then mentioned something that probably sounded a bit strange… that you should not spend a second of your time doing anything weight loss related. Don’t research. Don’t learn. Don’t buy. Whatever you do, don’t go out and look for weight loss. My reason for this of course was that I was going to “bring weight loss to you.”

And now, as promised, I present to you (I’m also a huge fan of overly dramatic introductions)…

The Ultimate Weight Loss Guide

As for a brief description, I’ll let its first paragraph do the describing:

This is it, folks. This is the first, last and only weight loss article you will EVER need to read. Only, this is much more than an article. This, my friends, is a guide. In fact, it’s the ultimate weight loss guide. It’s a collection of every single thing you will ever need to know about losing weight. Every helpful tip, every useful fact… it’s all here, compiled in one place, just for you.

If you need to lose weight, this is EVERYTHING you’ll need.

Oh, and Happy New Year!

Excelent my friend, congratulations! You could not put it any simpler. Thank you very much.
I just want to recomend one thing to everyone. TRY TO EAT MORE FRUIT, you wont be any hungry during the day and you´ll feel really great and healthy. Just try to eat 500 cal. of fruit in one meal… haha it is going to be really difficult and delicious! (it is around 7-8 pieces of fruit)

My husband and I decided to go on the South Beach diet. I bought the book and all of the food. It lasted 2 weeks. Have been searching the net for diet info and came across your article. So plain, so simple and so true. All it takes is a little bit of planning and calorie counting. Thank you so much for such a great resource and it’s free info…..imagine that!

  • tonya April 16, 2011 at 10:40 am

Omg this website is amazing. I have been searching for this information for years and here it is, and you don’t have to buy anything. At first I thought it was too good to be true but then I read it and now where on this site did it ask for anything. Thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t wait to get started on this diet and exercise program. I will be sharing this site with my friends.

This was indeed the best weightloss/nutrition website I have found on the internet and in any reading I have done! And you did it for free which I can’t begin to express my gratitude for. Now I know what I’ve been doing wrong, and how to do it right. This just leaves my own motivation to get it done, which is quite a load off! Thank you!

I’ve spent hours looking over websites trying to find information on weight loss. My uncle and mom both passed away this year and I told myself I was going to lose weight to change my life. Your article is above and beyond any mainstream site. Thank you for providing this.

  • Laketa December 01, 2011 at 8:18 am

Oh my, how happy I am to have found your site. Yep, its gettin’ bookmarked and Facebooked. I finally get it, because you gave it in such a gettable way.4’11” and 160lbs now, but 140…here I come…gotta go by there on my way to 130 :^)

  • Bill December 15, 2011 at 11:15 am

A few years ago I decided to lose some weight. I lost 40 lbs in 4 months & kept it off. When people asked me how, I said'” eat less, move more.” Exactly what I feel your article says, but people actually cursed me out for not sharing my “weight-loss secret” with them. Now there is an article in print to back me up. Thanks

Simple and straight to the point – I love this. Being one of the guilty ‘fad’ dieters, I have always known to count calories but was always looking for an easy, quick result. Slimfast, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Jillian Michaels, Tim Ferris and The South Beach Diet have all been rigidly adhered to and then catastrophically failed (now I have listed these I feel a fool for ignoring the good advice and going with the highly marketed, money making schemes). However, albeit the ‘slower’ option, I now have 1200 calories per day and do a cardio/strength workout 3 times a week, with cross country skiing (weather permitting)and yes, it is working. My clothes are looser and most importantly I am more relaxed. No more fixating on carbs or spending ridiculous amounts of money on speciality foods.
So thank you for shaking me out of my diet coma and making me FINALLY admit that losing weight is a lifestyle change that will last forever – and I welcome it with open arms

Hi, Thank you so so much. I have read so much info on dieting, I am female, 67, and need to lose 41 lbs. I go from website to website, trying to get certain info I can use re carbs, fat, calories & the formulas-and have never really understood it all. This article makes it absolutely clear. Everything I have needed help with is here. I never write comments on things, good or bad, but just wanted to thank you for this article. Now I just have to figure out how to get my printer to work so I can print it. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH! p.s. I have Diabetes, crohns among other things, so do have to watch carbs, but you have made it easier.

  • Rebecca February 15, 2012 at 11:15 pm

    Great article. Thanks for sharing.

  • Michael February 23, 2012 at 8:25 pm

Great article ! It certainly gets confusing finding good weight loss advice. What I’ve found is it’s usually biased towards selling their product. I think lately I am not losing weight because my daily caloric intake is being maintained. I will try dropping 500 calories a day and monitor my weight each week and see if this will drop some pounds. I hope more people read this article before getting totally ripped off by the scammy billion dollar weight loss Industry!

  • Ssingh February 23, 2012 at 9:09 pm

I have followed exactly the same principles that you have mentioned in this artive and have lost 33kg-and have maintained it for nine years now. The best and most honest weight loss article ever.

  • DrP March 01, 2012 at 1:32 pm

Great advice. Best weight loss article I’ve read. Was thinking about writing something similar myself as there are so many myths out there. I will share this with my patients instead!

  • Jennifer March 01, 2012 at 2:01 pm

I have lost approximately 37 pounds in 5 1/2 months doing exactly what is recommended in this article. The truth is, it works! Counting calories eaten and burned is key. I use the calorie tracker at which allows me to go back and review past weight levels and calories and sure enough, if there was a week that I gained a pound (around the holidays), there would be a corresponding increase in calories consumed for that week.

One other thing I do which seems to help is to estimate high on the calories eaten and low on the calories burned if I have to estimate something. This gives me just a little cushion.

  • Angel March 14, 2012 at 1:16 pm

I really love this site and like some other have mentioned, I am so very thankful it is free. I have never been a fad dieter, but after having a child, it has been very hard to drop the weight. I have been tracking my calorie intake for a little over a month and not seeing great results. Of course I am not weighing myself either because the scale can often leave me unmotivated and feeling depressed. This site was the encouragement I needed to keep doing what I am doing and giving me some great ideas for the future. I think weighing myself once a week can help me keep track of my goals and let me know if I need to make changes. I will recommend this site to anyone that is interested in weight loss.

  • Turtle March 28, 2012 at 4:20 am

Thank you for posting a free guide to weight loss. The idea behind it is great and for the first time ever actually makes sense, I’ll be starting this guide soon, when my new job starts paying that is.

  • Helena campins April 24, 2012 at 8:16 pm

Thank you for the simplicity. It is unbelievable how much rubbish I have believed and practiced trhoughout so many years. Thank you again and have a very happy life. With your simple facts I will work hard toward losing the weight I do not need anymore, and most important of all, now I will be following simple, sensible and true facts……believe me, I cannot thank you enough…………

  • Haley May 03, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I loved your article. Extremely helpful and motivating.

  • Ian May 04, 2012 at 6:22 am

I have read articles about weight loss for over 50 years and this is the best and most easily understood of them all. I have lost 36 pounds in the weeks before I read the article and have another 14 to go but with my understanding of the principles feel that it will be no problem.

  • Bob May 24, 2012 at 11:41 am

Great article, absolutely everything you need to know. I do have one suggestion to add that I didn’t see in the article, unless I missed it. During the weight loss process I believe it is critical to “WRITE IT DOWN”! Everything, every single bite, drinks too, even the zero calorie ones, and the exercise too. This really helps to keep you accountable to the process, and is great information to look back on when the scale doesn’t cooperate at times to see where you may have strayed. I lost over 80 lbs. over a year ago, and still continue to keep a food/exercise log. I believe it is instrumental in my efforts to keep the weight off.

Excellent Article I have ever read on this subject !

  • Chere July 18, 2012 at 3:14 pm

This article is amazing. Straight to the point and doesn’t cost a thing. I have been following these suggestions for about 4 months and I’m already down to my goal weight. I used to get caught up on gimmicks, of course, its everything you WANT to hear! The truth is its about healthier foods, and calories out vs. in. Thank you and I’m recommending this to anyone I know that struggles with weight loss!

  • April July 27, 2012 at 3:04 pm

Wow! the first real “tell ya like it is” article. this gets a 10! star rating in my book

  • Kumail August 09, 2012 at 1:26 am

I cannot thank you enough for this article. This has made so much more sense than anything else I’ve looked into! I have even been at the point where I’d try to throw up (thank god that i could’nt get myself to do it) anf look into some pro-anorexia stuff, but it never made sense to me so I didn’t try it. If I had not found this article now, who knows what I would’ve tried, and who know’s what I would have become in a few years. All I have become now, thanks to you, is determined and confident. I will lose my stubborn weight once and for all. This may come off as cheesy but there is no other way to put this. Thanks again.

  • brilliant! October 06, 2012 at 4:24 pm

“if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” -a einstein

this article is as simple as it is informative. really the end-all be-all of weight management, this information simply could not be stated in a more pure manner than you have accomplished. i really appreciate the time, effort and insight you put into this guide. a truly good find.
